About Beam Central Vacuum
Robert Sampson established Beam Central Vacuum in 1957, out of what used to be a washing machine manufacturing facility. In the beginning, the product was marketed as Manorvac. AB Electrolux acquired Beam Central Vacuum in 1987, and BEAM Enterprises was renamed BEAM by Electrolux Central Vacuum Systems in 2007. Beam relocated its production facility to Juarez, Mexico, in 2010, and shortly after, its corporate headquarters to Charlotte, North Carolina. Beam Vacuum was acquired by Nuera Air, a Canadian maker of central vacuums, in 2018.
The
Beam Product Line
1.
The
Beam Alliance Central Vacuum range, which debuted in 2013,
included two-way connectivity between the system and the hose handle. When
checking the motor rpm, the user will obtain accurate diagnostics. The trash
can is fixed in place by a pair of easily adjustable magnets. In the system we
tested, we discovered Chinese-made motors.
2.
The
Beam Serenity Central Vacuum series debuted in the
mid-1990s. In comparison to their traditional Classic selection, the line
continues to operate quietly.
3.
Beam Classic Central Vacuum is
a value-priced central vacuum that does not have any sound containment. It
discharges from the rim, as do all of their other units, and has an inverted,
center-weighted fabric filter with "Gore Technology."
A
Strong Presence
Beam has done an excellent job raising
awareness of central vacuums and popularizing the term in Canada and a host of
other countries. Beam Central Vacuum collaborated with UC Davis to create an
instrumental study proving central vacuums mitigate common allergic reactions.
Beam Central Vacuum also manufactures various
other central vacuum products, including Honeywell, Smart, Rug Master, and
others.
A
Word on Compatibility
Beam has traditionally used industry-standard
parts, such as circuit boards, pumps, inlets, attachments, pipe and fittings,
hoses, and power brushes, except for everything beginning with their Q-Series
and Alliance hoses and kits.
To drain the Beam Central Vacuum
system, most Beam units have clamps that drop a bottom bucket. Their user
manual states unequivocally that you can shake out the hanging filter any time
you empty the device. Allergy sufferers will appreciate this.
Many Beam units have clamps that lower a bottom bucket to empty the unit. Beam's user manual clearly states that you should shake out the dangling filter once you empty the unit. Allergy sufferers would appreciate this.
To hold dust to a minimum, allergy sufferers who need to clean the filter can wear a face mask and use a plastic bag placed around the bottom of the can.
