  Robert Sampson established Beam Central Vacuum in 1957, out of what used to be a washing machine manufacturing facility. In the beginning, the product was marketed as Manorvac. AB Electrolux acquired Beam Central Vacuum in 1987, and BEAM Enterprises was renamed BEAM by Electrolux Central Vacuum Systems in 2007. Beam relocated its production facility to Juarez, Mexico, in 2010, and shortly after, its corporate headquarters to Charlotte, North Carolina.
